Following the recent visit of “fake doctor” Mala Ali, the ministry has launched an investigation in to the matter.
Mala Ali, who claims to be able to treat deaf people, arrived in the Maldives on the 29th of last month. It is unclear which island he has arrived at.
According to Mala Ali’s Facebook post, he went to an island within the country and treated many people. Mala Ali thanked the person who facilitated his arrival in an Arabic-language post.
According to him, many people sought treatment from him and recovered. He also stated that he did it for no monetary gain.
A group of Maldivians can be seen accepting Mala Ali’s service in the video he shared.
Mala Ali’s treatment of a local has also gone viral on social media. “We need to be careful about this man and call on the Maldivian authorities to look into what he is doing,” Ali Ramiz, senior activist of The Jamaat-e-Salaf, tweeted.
In addition to Ali Rameez, Sheikh Fazloon has expressed concern about the incident. Sheikh Fazloon warned the public that anyone who claims to be able to heal people in one day, one week, or any other time frame through ruqya is actually a black-magic practitioner.
Mala Ali, according to sources, left the Maldives five days ago.
When contacted, Aminath Sathufa, a spokesperson for the Health Ministry, said the matter had been brought to their attention and that further investigations were underway. However, the ministry did not provide any additional information.
Mala Ali has been illegally treating patients. Furthermore, Mala had been arrested and deported from Saudi Arabia. In Turkey, his office was also closed, and he was arrested in connection with the case.
Mala was also reportedly detained in his home country of Iraq.
Mala Ali is currently in India, according to sources. In a Facebook post, he stated that thousands of people from India are seeking treatment from him.
