Member of Parliament Rozaina Adam has said that the problem is not MDP, but the former president of the ruling party, Mohamed Nasheed.

Rozaina stated in a tweet that the public have observed MDP conducting good governance under President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and that MDP members should no longer take to the streets. She went on to say that President Solih has earned the admiration and respect of the police and the armed forces.

Noting this, Rozaina stated that it demonstrates that the problem is not MDP, but rather MDP’s former president. In her criticism of Nasheed, Rozaina stated that President Solih does not break the law nor does he make empty promises.

Rozaina further stated that President Solih does not make incendiary remarks, unlike Nasheed, who once told the people that no one can go through life without being a little intoxicated. Rozaina went on to suggest that MDP members do not have to go through the hassle of interpreting  what the President Solih says.

She stated that, in contrast to the last MDP government, MDP members believe that the new system is considerably easier to handle. She claimed that previously  MDP members were usually preoccupied deciphering whatever Nasheed was saying at the moment.
