Foreign Minister Abdullah Shahid has said that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will win next year’s presidential election and be elected for a second term.
Shahid said this in an interview with The Print during his visit to India.
In this interview, Shahid said that the “India Out” campaign is any movement by the opposition with no development agenda against Maldive’s closest neighbour. He said it was because there was nothing else to sell to the people.
However, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be elected for a second term and the people have accepted the good things he has done under his leadership, he said.

In the “Ask Speaker” program in Parliament, Nasheed said that giving President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih a second term is not the right way for the MDP. However, Shahid is the other candidate for the presidential ticket within the party, Nasheed said.
