The private home of the incumbent Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Did has been sprayed with “India Out” graffiti on Tuesday.
Minister Mariya’s house was sprayed in orange last night during a campaign against the presence of Indian military personnel in the Maldives.
No authorities have officially spoken about the spraying of Minister Mariya’s house.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih issued a presidential decree against the ‘India Out’ campaign which speak up against Indian military personnel in the Maldives. Since the decree, the authorities have been taking action against the India Out campaign.
However, “India Out” activities are currently being carried out in secret. In this regard, Indian Ambassador Mun Mahavaru recently placed “India Out” papers in front of the Hulhumale’ flat. “India Out” papers were also placed in front of the house of Defence Minister Mariya Ahmed Didi and foreign minister Abdulla Shahid.
“India Out” is also being sprayed every night in various buildings in Male’ City. Police have now said they will also look into the issue of Spraying India Out and India Out Papers on the streets.
