Anon-governmental organization under the name ‘Bridging the Communities Maldives’ (BCM) has hosted a special seminar on women empowerment on the occasion of international women’s day.
The seminar was held in Manhattan Business Hotel in Male’ city. According to BCM, women from different sectors joined in the seminar. BCM further stated the seminar was made possible with the support of the Manhattan fish market and the support of Manhattan Business Hotel.
The seminar covers key challenges women face in the Maldives. During the seminar information was provided on women and media, women and the economy, women’s health, and women and the environment. A panel of experts consisting of TV presenter-Aminath Namza, Mediplus Director of operations and marketing- Aminath Shaayan Shahid, MIPSTAR’s consultant – Dr. Aishath Ali Naaz, and PADI course director – Zoona Naseem provided information for the participants.
Since the creation of BCM on 14 January 2022, the organization has been working to empower women and has conducted several workshops to create awareness about women.
