Addu city council has appointed Mohamed Shujau as its Secretary-General (SG). The city council appointed Shujau after 7 council members voted in favour of his appointment.
Several other candidates have competed for the following post, amongst all the candidates Shujau has been reported to have received top points during the interview process by the city council. During the voting, 4 members did not vote in favour of appointing Shujau to the post of Secretary-General.
Prior to Shujau’s appointment, the post of SG has been fulfilled by a former long term serving city council executive and the current temporary city council executive – Mohamed Haleem.
The City Council Secretary-General (SG) post was created to look into all administrative and monitor all operations of the city council.
