Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer has pledged to find swift and lasting solutions to the problems faced by Maldivians living in Sri Lanka. During his ongoing visit to the island nation, the minister made these remarks while engaging with the Maldivian community.
Addressing concerns raised by Maldivians residing and traveling in Sri Lanka, Minister Zameer emphasized the urgency of addressing these issues. “We will try to find quick and lasting solutions,” he assured, noting that this objective is a primary focus of his visit.
Minister Zameer also highlighted President Dr. Muizzu’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and facilitating easier access for Maldivians in foreign countries, with a specific focus on Sri Lanka. The minister praised High Commissioner Masood Imad for his efforts in strengthening the services offered by the High Commission and enhancing its relationship with the Maldivian community. He noted that the Maldives Centre in Susanville has been instrumental in providing essential services to Maldivians in Sri Lanka, particularly children, including those with special needs.
Minister Zameer urged Maldivian students in Sri Lanka to contribute to the nation’s progress, even while studying abroad. As part of his visit, he also toured the Maldives Centre in Sri Lanka, reaffirming the commitment to create a supportive environment for all Maldivians in the country.
