The new Ambassador of Hungary to the Republic of Maldives, H.E. István Szabó, presented his Letter of Credence to H.E. President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih yesterday morning at the President’s Office.
At the ceremony, President Solih welcomed Ambassador Szabó to the Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term. He noted that this week will mark the 48th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the Maldives and Hungary. He added that both countries had made progress in fostering closer ties, particularly over the past two years through high-level visits.
The President and the Ambassador also discussed other topics of shared interest, such as higher education, sports, tourism, and economic cooperation. President Solih and Ambassador Szabó concluded the discussions by expressing their commitment to strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Hungary.
