The Government of India is facilitating the\nrepatriation of Indian nationals stranded in Maldives due to the COVID-19\npandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an announcement published by the Government of\nIndia stated the government is facilitating the return of Indian nationals\nstranded abroad on compelling grounds. The announcement further stated the\ntravel would be arranged by aircraft and naval ship adding the facility would\nbe made available on payment-basis. It also stated a medical screening would be\ndone before travelling and only asymptomatic passengers would be allowed to\ntravel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In regard to this, the High Commission of India in\nMaldives stated the first phase of repatriating 700 Indians in Maldives begins\non May 8 from Male\u2019 to Kochi by an Indian naval ship. The High Commission of\nIndia further stated the commission is reaching out to Indian nationals who\nwish to travel on compelling grounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While Maldives have reported a total 551 cases of\nCOVID-19, 52 Indian nationals have also tested positive for the virus in\nMaldives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
