Foreign Secretary His Excellency Ahmed Latheef, participated today, at the High-Level Strategic Dialogue on IORA\u2019s 25-Years: Reflection, Review, and Renewal, held in Mauritius from 20-22 June 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This high-level strategic dialogue is part of IORA\u2019s Silver Jubilee celebrations to reflect and review the past 25 years of IORA, acknowledge successes, address challenges, and assess the implementation of outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Dialogue brought together senior level officials from Member States of IORA and other stakeholders involved in IORA. Participants reiterated their commitment to achieve the aims and objectives of the dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIORA Vision 2030 and beyond\u201d will be drafted at this meeting. The draft document will then be considered by IORA Member States prior to presentation to the Council of Ministers in October 2023 in Sri Lanka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
IORA is a leading intergovernmental organization formed in 1997 to enhance regional and socio-economic cooperation and development within the Indian Ocean Region. The Maldives formally joined IORA in November 2019, as its 22nd member state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
