The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has extended the yellow alert for the southern atolls of Maldives due to bad weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The yellow alert has been issued for islands between L. Atoll and Addu City from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. today. According to MET Office, heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusts of 45 mph with rough seas are expected in these areas during these hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Weather forecasts say that between 10 a.m. today and 10.am. tomorrow morning, scattered rain with isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms\u00a0are expected\u00a0over the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, MET Office says that surface winds are expected south\/southwesterly at 13 \u2013 23 miles per.\u00a0Winds may gust 40 miles per hour during showers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seas are expected to be rough and heavy rain and strong winds are expected. Therefore, MET Office has advised all parties especially seafarers to practice caution when traveling.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
