Vice President Faisal Naseem received the Covishield vaccine against Covid-19 yesterday evening at Senahiya Hospital. After receiving the first dose of the vaccine yesterday, the Vice President appealed the public to come forth in the national spirit and urged everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih initiated the \u201cCovid-19 Dhifaau\u201d campaign to inoculate the entire population against Covid-19 on the 1st of February 2021. The \u201cCovishield\u201d brand vaccine administered in the Maldives was developed by the Serum Institute of India (SII) with the same formula as the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine. On January 20, 2021, the Government of India donated a shipment of 100,000 doses of the vaccine to the Maldives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
