The Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, His Excellency Ranil Wickremesinghe, has met with the Vice President of the Maldives, His Excellency Faisal Naseem, this morning at the President’s Office. The Prime Minister is currently undertaking an Official Visit to the Maldives.
The Vice President reiterated President Solih’s sentiments expressed during the Official Talks held earlier today, commenting on the mutual respect and friendship that has always marked the relationship between our two countries, and expressed his satisfaction that this relationship will be further bolstered by the intergovernmental agreement and MOUs signed today.
The Prime Minister reciprocated the Vice President’s sentiments and affirmed his readiness to constructively engage with the Government of the Maldives for the mutual benefit of both nations. At the call’s conclusion, the Vice President and Prime Minister wished each other well and restated their commitment to always maintain the excellent friendship that has always endured between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
